Trystero: They're better than some of the other maps we've reviewed.
CoMpUdOc: Otherwise, they were done pretty well.

Trystero: Prison isn't exactly a color-filled environment.

Trystero: Some of the cabinets had the cool mech textures on them. I liked that.

Architecture
Killer: lots of effort
DerianX: The stairs are nicely done
Killer: cool hidden passages
Trystero: I liked the cellblock deisgn.
Killer: basketball court was good
CoMpUdOc: Though, on the stairs you could walk through the railings in spots
DerianX: Yeah I noticed
DerianX: physical BSP holes
Trystero: I never really noticed.
DerianX: Nothing really stood out though
Trystero: hmmmm
DerianX: I liked the guard point at the top of the cell block
Trystero: It's a PRISON...not the Cathedral of Chartes.
DerianX: The microwave was neat (with LAMs inside).
Killer: Hehe
Trystero: I think the architecture of the complex was FAIRLY loyal to what some sort of recreational prison might look like.

Lighting

Trystero: I didn't notice a lot of lighting effects...
Killer: well in the above cells
DerianX: It seemed as though the lighting was identical throughout the map
CoMpUdOc: otherwise, it was dull...There was some nice coloring...but it was quite dark in spots
Trystero: It could have been more brooding.
DerianX: Some spots SHOULD have been darker
CoMpUdOc: I agree derian

DerianX: I was thinking "These tunnels with no light source sure are bright"

DerianX: The cells are a bit redundant

DerianX: I mean EMPTY cells, but I guess there isn't any better way

CoMpUdOc: Vents that you can actually fit into in MP are always nice
Trystero: The map was well furnished with lots of extra fun stuff.
DerianX: The spawn layout was bad though

DerianX: I didn't like having to PICK a 40% door to get a GEP gun
Trystero: Well... that comes down to your own personal weapon selections... and what kind of combat the map wanted to emphasize.
DerianX: But the weapon system is balanced for a reason

Playability
CoMpUdOc: Well, one plus (or minus, however you look at it, no custom packages.
DerianX: This map has a spawn problem
Trystero: I could actually play on this map....a real change from some of the other maps we've done.
DerianX: Did you notice that 80% of the battles were in the cell block right after leaving the spawn room?
CoMpUdOc: Yeah, I did notice that.
Trystero: Well....bottleneck points are on every map...smuggler, cathedral...etc...
DerianX: It's a bit too big in places
Trystero: ?
DerianX: Well... for 4 players
CoMpUdOc: yeah
Killer: 14 would be great
CoMpUdOc: With 12-14, this would be nice
DerianX: I can see this map being a cell block spawn & fight map though, there are only 2 spawn points as far as I could tell
Trystero: Yes....that kind of worries me.
DerianX: there should have been more in other areas
CoMpUdOc: There may be more for DM in some cells
DerianX: on the other hand, if you can avoid the cell block rumble...
CoMpUdOc: 6 here.
