Weapons - Low-Tech
Baton |
Base Damage: 7 |
Base Accuracy: 50% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
|
|
Best used when striking from behind.
Had Deus Ex made an issue of whether you killed someone or rendered
them unconscious this weapon would have been more important but
when it comes to stealth a one strike take down is important. This
makes the crowbar a better choice. |
Combat Knife |
Base Damage: 5 |
Base Accuracy: 50% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
|
|
Great when going for the silent
kill. As with using the stealth approach, more damage can be done
by sneaking up and striking before you are detected. If you have
the space, the crowbar is a better choice. |
Throwing Knives |
Base Damage: 15 |
Base Accuracy: 55% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
|
|
Though you can run out of these,
they can do more damage than just the combat knife and they are
ranged making it safer to use against targets from a distance. |
Crowbar |
Base Damage: 6 |
Base Accuracy: 50% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
|
|
Many Half-Life players will recall
fond memories upon picking up the 'ol head basher. Though it requires
two inventory slots, you're more likely to get a one strike take
down with this, especially if they don't see it coming. |
Sword |
Base Damage: 10 |
Base Accuracy: 50% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
|
|
Instructions: Point away from face
and swing. Sounds simple enough. If you have the room, it does a
better job than the crowbar for some of those tough guys who just
won't get the hint that they are going down. |
Dragon's Tooth Sword
|
Base Damage: 20
(100 with patch or game of the year edition) |
Base Accuracy: 50% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
|
|
Just like the sword listed above
only better. It doesn't empower you with anything like "the
force" but it sure does feel good to swing around. |
Pepper Gun |
Base Damage: N/A |
Base Accuracy: 65% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
Clip Size: 100 RDS |
Rate of Fire: AUTO, 13.3 RDS/SEC |
Reload Time: 4.0 SEC |
Acc. Range: 6 ft. |
Max. Range: 6 ft. |
Ammo Type(s): Pepper Cartridge |
Stronger than a breath mint, and
far more effective at stopping unpleasent odors dead in their tracks.
Spray it on and watch them stop to rub it out of their eyes. Combine
this with a baton strike or a 10mm to the head for best effect.
Personally, I don't find it as useful as the riot prod however I've
heard you can use it to bypass security beams. You spray the lower
beam near its contact with the wall and crouch/walk past it. I have
as yet to ever make this work but others have so I'm mentioning
it here. |
Riot Prod |
Base Damage: 15 |
Base Accuracy: 75% |
Skill: Weapons: Low-Tech |
Clip Size: 4 RDS |
Rate of Fire: SINGLE, 1.0 RDS/SEC |
Reload Time: 3 SEC |
Acc. Range: 5 ft. |
Max. Range: 5 ft. |
Ammo Type(s): Prod Charger |
Like pepper spray the riot prod
can immobilize your target for a safe take down with a baton or
pistol. However, an added bonus of the riot prod is its ability
to also take down a target by using it twice, or once if they don't
see it coming. |
