Deus Ex Conceptual Art

As many of you probably know, the final game character design you see modelled and skinned in-game comes from conceptual sketch drawings. An artist will sit down with the designers and go through many iterations before the final look of the creature is settled upon. These pencil (usually) sketches are then taken and scanned into a computer, so that colors can be added in order to really get a good feel for what that monster or character will look like.

What we've got here is a collection of conceptual art pieces used in the development of Deus Ex. Each image links to a fullsized (and sometimes GIANT sized!) version, so be sure to take a gander! Our thumbnails are squashed in order to make the table on this page look neat and pretty, but the full versions are in their original aspect ratio. Enjoy.
