Other Resources on the Net
As you could probably tell, our editing section is really only for beginning mod makers, to get them to a point where they can mess around with the game and actually get stuff done and have something to look at. Anyone seeking to go a bit further will probably want to have more advanced help. This page will lead you to other sites that offer more advanced tutorials, meeting places for Deus Ex modders, and much more.
Playable Files
Hah, we KNEW someone would come to our editing section looking for mods and maps to actually *play*... Well, look no further than our own hosted file site, called Deus Ex Ed. This database-driven editing site has mini-mods, maps, fan missions, tutorials, tools, and a lot more. Plus they have a setup for you, the user, to submit your own reviews of various items. Very cool!
Tutorial
The Deus Ex community has been hard at work applying their experience to making learning easier for other people. Here's where you go to find out how to do some of the more advanced things in Deus Ex editing.
Deus Ex Ed
Yep, not only do they do files, they've also got some very useful editing tutorials on things like mapping, coding, and using conedit. Start here!
Universal Constructor Nothing but tutorials! UC features a good selection of mapping tuts that explain the intricacies of UnrealEd quite well, plus there are also articles for NPC's and in-world items like ATMs.
Tack's Deus Ex Lab Loads of tutorials and even some home-brewed model editing tools.
Tools
Well, if you're reading this I'm sure you've already got the SDK and the Beta Multiplayer patch. But what if you're just a little bit l33ter than most, and want to get some hardcore stuff? Well, here ya go.
DeusExEd Has, of course, their own Tools section! And it's nicely maintainted, too, with stuff for everyone from coders to artists and even musicians.
DXEditing Has a nice selection of tools also.
