ION Austin Office Pics
Pictures and captions by ION Austin MIS Manager Chad Warren

ION Storm Austin has left the building. The old building, that is, the one where they labored away and created one of the most groundbreaking games in history... Deus Ex. Yes, after Deus Ex's release, the title's subsequent enormous success, and the obtaining of the Thief franchise, Eidos and ION decided that the crowded hallways full of pinball machines and designer war rooms weren't going to be big enough. So they loaded up the truck and moved to, not Beverly (Hills that is), but the XXXXX building in another part of Austin. No more chainsaw shops catching on fire, no more telescopes pointing down at the lovlies at the local outdoor lunch establishment... just serene development space.

Come join us in a brief photographic tour of the office that's going to give birth to the games that will be the addiction of many future players.

Garage Entrance

Building goes out of their way
to make us feel at home,
considering that we're on the
2nd floor of the "A" building

First floor lobby entrance.
Kinda looks like a DX level,
don't it. Spooky

2nd floor elevator lobby. Note
high-poly glass-brick texture.
Not sure if that one's going
to stay. Depends on framerate

Our as yet unoccupied
reception area/trophy room.
What do you think about an
"ION Receptionist for a Day
Contest"?

Since we have no receptionist,
to get into our suite, you have
to go through me....

Actually, those are some of
my birthday presents.
Demonique is from Shayne,
and the mug is from my
friend Brad, from his tour in
Hawaii. Cheeseburger in
paradise is kind of my theme
song

Just because it will piss him
off, here's a picture of
Warren's office
