Despot: Site Coordinator
This quaint bipedal mammal sucks at writing quick bios, so here's
the quick facts: A/S/L = under 90/Male/Sierra Nevada foothills of
California. Website credentials are: this site (which came pre-assembled,)
Content Director at the Thief branch of Stormtroopers, Thief
Underground, and news monkey (until it was revamped as a resource
site) at Down the Rabbit
Hole, 3DActionPlanet's Alice site. Trivia: "DromEd [the Thief
level editor] 0wnz j00!" is still his battle cry, but he may be forced
to use the dreaded UnrealEd when Thief 3 and Deus Ex 2 are released.
Favorite flavor of ice cream: Mint Chocolate Chip.
Ghandaiah: Staff
Writer
If you don't know me by "Got Ghand" by now, shame on you, sir. I'm
only the evilest evil of all evils. And I write stuff. Articles.
You know! "Got Ghand"! You've never read it, silly? ...Wait, haven't
we gone over this already? Yes! Yes we have! Stop wasting my time,
you! You! You evil person you! Ahaha... how's it goin', man?
I'll tell you what. I'll tell you a little secret if you find me
a banana suit, because believe you me, sir, banana suits are hard
to find these days. Okay? Good. Here's the secret: I'm not really
insane. It's true! I'm not! I just act that way. So remember, if
you ever see a sixty-three year old man pushing a shopping cart
of croutons through an airport metal detector, all the while in
a banana suit, yelling "jibber jabber jibber jabber!" - It IS NOT
ME. Yeah, you heard me. Sonny. I was writing Got Ghand long before
you were ever playing Deus Ex! Yeah! I'm talking to you! Jibber
jabber! Jibber!
Kaigen: Staff Writer
I, Kaigen, otherwise known as Sean Simpson, may be familiar to some of you.
Way back before Deus Ex was released I worked at the late DXNation as a
news posting wh0re and then later an administrator. Once the site
collapsed, I moved here to PDX doing the occasional editorial. I eventually
left the site and kind of played hopscotch writing for various websites
including Previewed DVD and Lost
Hours, a gaming column for the late Coming Attractions, now merged with
Cinescape. Now I'm back as news
poster here at PDX, while writing game reviews at Stratos Group and co-authoring the
web-comic Force
Monkeys with Ghandaiah.
King Kashue:
Staff Writer
King Kashue is the dashing, mysteriously powerful alias for **NAME
DELETED**, who currently lives in a Detroit, MI suburb under the
Federal Witness Protection Program...(oops, was I not supposed to
mention that? Hey, it's not my safety that's compromised). In real
life (What?!? This isn't real life?!?!) he is a professional history
student; a musician, playing five instruments (some better than
others); an amateur baseball player; and enjoys long walks on the
beach, and beautiful sunsets...(I wasn't supposed to mention that
either? My bad.) Here at PDX, he currently authors the "Path to
Illumination" and will probably be asked to open his big, fat, opinionated,
arrog...sorry, he'll probably be asked to write some editorials
at some point (though only if Despot is getting really desperate)...
Jonas Wæver:
News Editor
Some of you (very few of you) who have known about DX Tempus may
remember that I was the Project leader. When the mod died, Despot
jumped into action like a desperate vulture and hauled me in with
a lot of nice words which he really didn't mean. So now I'm here,
where I'll be trying to take over PlanetDeusEx from the
inside posting news.
Trestkon:
News Editor
Born and raised in Canada, I somehow found my way to the PDX community, and from there, branched into mods, other DX related sites, and many other magnificent wonders that even I cannot yet fully comprehend (must be the cold). Currently I'm heading up The Nameless Mod, have the news and tutorial management job over at dxediting.com and moderate several of the PDX forums. I know what you’re thinking, "what does one guy need with all that power". When you figure it out ...let me know. Right, I'm also 18 years of age, and male. I enjoy flexing (much to the delight of all my lady fans) as well as reading and pointless debates that can come to no reasonable conclusion.
Winquman: News
Editor
I'm a 17 year old guy from Sweden. No, not Switzerland, Sweden.
And no, everything you hear about sweden is not true. Anyhow, here
is my story:
It all started with the MP patch. That's when I decided I wanted
to get involved. This was back in christmas year 2000. Since then,
I've worked for different mods as a coder (right now it's the PartyZone
mod). When PlanetDeusEx got it's IRC channel, I joined it, and became
a regular (nowadays I'm pretty much addicted to the internet thanks
to that channel). Time went on, and I had a lot of fun. What I did
notice, however, was the lack of Mod News on the site. So I asked
the mighty Despot if I could post mod news, and after a long and
painful waiting, I finally got an answer from him. And here I am
now. That's about it, don't you think?
slicer: News Editor
A DXMP freak, I am, for the dark side I sense in you
errr
that doesnt sound right. Anyhoo, Im slicer, yes, you
heard right, slicer
the origins of the name is unknown. People
call me sliver on some occasions (Gwog), weird innit? Yes, Im
a Brit too, Im from the London, England, United Kingdom, Planet
Ghandaiah
Having worked for PDX under the command of Gwog
and plotting with Jonas to take over PDX after Despot took
over, muwahahahaha, and assisting GameSpy with the Deus
Ex servers (what do you mean you cant see them, they dont
exist anymore o_O), since March and January 2001 respectively, I
am still a low down mortal serving PDX. A fun job it is, may the
force be with you (a quote I believe is not from JC Denton himself).
Joost "Silverdawn" Loijens:
GameSpy RPG Genre Producer
While not a daily staff member of PlanetDeusEx, Silverdawn is still
the boss. He manages all of GameSpy's RPG sites, centered around
RPGPlanet,
and was instrumental in getting the site built and online.
Retired Staff
Bruce "Gwog" Ladewig:
Site Director
A part of the ION Storm community since 1997, Gwog founded Deus
Ex Incarnate in June of '98. Talking with original Deus Ex programmer
Albert Yarusso convinced Gwog that Deus Ex (then called 'Shooter')
was going to be pretty damn cool, and worth following. He was also
the site director of Stormtroopers.com,
PlanetDaikatana, and
PlanetAnachronox.
Buzz Kirkwood: News Editor
Buzz Kirkwood is a "writer." He combines letters into words, words
into sentences, sentences into paragraphs, and so forth. It is through
this mysterious method that he "writes" things. Amazing? Yes. Interesting?
No, probably not; but he does it because he can. And can he shall!
Oh, how he shall. He'll shall so hard it will make your nose bleed.
Then you'll run to get some tissues to fix your nasal problem and
in this short time period he'll write some more, leaving you completely
helpless to stop him. It's all a vicious cycle, really, but nature
has set it this way for a reason. We will never know what this reason
is because our feeble minds are too busy being feeble to bother
to figure it out. So in closing, no, I don't know where the exit
is. Although if I did know where it was I would be out of here so
fast it would make your nose bleed. Then you'll run to get some
tissues to fix your nasal problem and in that short time period
I'll be running down the street yelling "SO LONG, SUCKERS!!" Because
I will have found the exit while you have not. (Please note, this
bio was done while under heavy medication. Medication so strong
it would make your nose bleed...)
Beeblebrx:
News and Feature Editor
Beeblebrx's first contribution to Deus Ex Incarnate was a series
of articles taking a real-world look at some of the conspiracies
featured in Deus Ex. From there, Beeblebrx branched out to doing
news, and helping Gwog plan, implement, and judge contests.
Lordie: News Editor
and ServerOp Guru
Lordie is a staff writer/newshound for PlanetDeusEx and PlanetDaikatana,
and occasional freelance journalist. He enjoys most any game (on
pc and console) that does not involve tunics, swords, or bags of
holding. Deus Ex Multiplayer takes precedent over most other games
currently (2/5/01), but when not playing DX, Lordie enjoys collecting/playing
FPS, Third-person Tomb Raider-y games, and the occasional strategy
game. Offline, his current hobbies are gaming concept art collection,
correcting people who call him 'Loride,' and Rain Man like memorization
training.
Aaron "O(V)eG@" McAuley:
News Editor
O(V)eG@'s Interest in Deus Ex began in early February 1999, after
reading an interview with Warren Spector in a popular gaming magazine
he was entranced by the games beautiful visuals (having previously
enjoyed the stunning graphics of Doom) and intrigued by the games
proposed storyline, He joined the Deus Ex community in mid 1999
with a visit to The ION Storm web page, he was soon a regular of
the Deus Ex forum and, in march 2000, after recovering from the
fact that the world most certainly did not end, he was approached
by OnlyOne to join Everyone's favourite Deus Ex brothel, DXNation,
where he contributed an interview with Deus Ex programmer Scott
Martin as well as tirelessly scouring the net for even the most
tiny morsel of Deus Ex news. With DXN's demise early in 2001 O(V)eG@
found himself without a homepage, but his will to stay in the community
and Gwog's need of a "few good men" at Deus Ex Incarnate soon saw
him back in the familiar role of Newshound once again. O(V)eG@ is
an 18 year old Geomatics/Computer Science student at the Royal Melbourne
Institute of Technology (RMiT), but don't ask him what Geomatics
is, cos he doesn't know. He is an enthusiastic artist and programmer
and enjoys Immersive reality sims such as Deus Ex and Thief as well
as RTS games like Homeworld and Age of Empires and basically "any
game that doesn't suck".
Bub: Files Manager
Uhm... Hi. I'm Bub, and I'm 14 years old, and uhm... that's it.
So anyway, if you hang around #planetdeus you should know me already.
I'm not as insane as the other PlanetDeusEx people, but sometimes
I get a little crazy. I love Deus Ex of course, though I never play
DXMP. I hung around the HL community for a couple years, but I'm
moving on now. I do a bit of DX mapping, and I enjoy writing and
stuff. And... that's it! If you wish to know more, just e-mail
me.
Nathan Keogh: Staff
Writer
Master of the long range GEP kill, Nate writes the mailbag
article. Idiots beware, however, as you may be met by Mr. Trout
at the gates to the mailbag.
He lives somewhere in the boondocks of North Carolina. For you city
people, that means he lives in the middle of nowhere. He is about
18 years old, depending on when you read this, and is anxious to
get high school over with. Can usually be found hanging out on a
Team Fortress server or maybe playing Unreal4Ever.
Evil_InVasion:
News Editor
Head of all things evil, Evil_InVasion posts the latest Deus-Ex
news for the community. Formerly webmaster of Deus-Ex.org, he also
was the Forum Moderator and then Administrator before retiring to
work at PlanetDeusEx. He is also historical consultant and Public
Relations director for the Providence Deus-Ex mod.
